The Aylsham Swift Group have asked us to make and install some nest boxes in the belfry of St. Michael’s Church. This is a good time to get involved, as the time that the swifts arrive and start nesting is here. They nest in colonies and will get used to the boxes this year, using them we hope next season.

We know where the boxes have to be positioned. It involves a climb up the tower but it’s safe enough! The bells are away being repaired, so at present the access is totally clear.

We have five members of the group who have volunteered to help and Ken will be in touch with them shortly to discuss how the boxes are to be made.  Ken has a good folder of information and the promise of wood from a donor.

It will be fun. Interested? Contact Ken on 07917 717654 or email chairman@aylshamcommunityshed.org
